(EN) Karlsruhe, 28 March 2012 - 1&1, GMX and WEB.DE receive the German Document Freedom Award for the use of Open Standards. The prize is awarded by the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) and the Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure e.V. (FFII) for automatically providing all their users of 1&1, GMX, and WEB.DE with an XMPP account in addition to their e-mail addresses.

(DE) Karlsruhe, 28. März 2012 — 1&1, GMX und WEB.DE erhalten den deutschen Document Freedom Award für die automatische Integration Offener Standards. Der Preis wird von der Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) und dem Förderverein für eine Freie Informationelle Infrastruktur e.V. (FFII) verliehen. 1&1 erhält den Preis für die automatische Bereitstellung des Offenen Standards XMPP für alle Kundinnen und Kunden ihrer angebotenen Mailangebote.
